At Hamilton Rich, John uses his executive leadership and recruitment expertise to help clients recruit CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, and senior roles in sales, marketing, and general management.
With experience as an executive recruiter, CEO and General Manager, John has for more than 30 years actively identified, attracted and retained key talent. As a respected leader John recognises the strategic value of diverse and capable teams and impact of hiring decisions.
John also provides advisory support and consulting for businesses with a special focus on sales growth and go to market strategies. Industry experience spans energy and clean tech, professional and business services, retail, distribution, technology, finance, and printing.
BIO
John has held CEO roles for listed and private equity businesses together with C-level roles spanning sales, marketing, operations, and strategy.
Most recently John was CEO of ASX listed Energy Action, the leading energy broker and consultant for Australian businesses. John previously held GM roles with Origin and AGL Energy, Snap Printing and Anitech as well as executive roles with GKN, Lend Lease and Equigroup finance. Earlier in his career John was a recruitment consultant with Drake Executive, specialising in finance and technology.
His passion for sales and growth, saw John establish his sales consulting business attracting multiple clients including Dyson, Coca Cola Amatil, Nude by Nature and Scotwork.
John has served on company, advisory and industry boards and is currently a board member and Treasurer of the Energy Efficiency Council.
John has provided many conference and keynote presentations and expert commentary for media including the Australian Financial Review, 2GB and Sky News in relation to the clean energy transition.
Education
John is a Fellow of the Certified Practice Accountants and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from The University of New South Wales.
